end of the 20th century, after the discovery that it contains growth factors. Used to stimulate tissue healing and regeneration. Platelets play crucial role in hemostasis and blood clot formation. They contain granules full of clothing mediators and growth factors (GF). Plasma is the liquid part of the blood which contains cell nutrients, vitamins, hormones, electrolytes and growth factors (IGF, HGF).
